PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
The Garden History Research Foundation is a specialist, charitable trust in New Zealand whose purpose is to ‘promote an understanding of the context, meaning and history of gardens’. It shares a close relationship with Hamilton Gardens whose purpose or theme is the same.
The Foundation’s primary objectives are:
- To promote a wider and more extensive understanding of gardens in their social and historic context.
- To seek funding and other forms of support for various research projects and publications associated with the study of gardens and to co-ordinate those activities.
- To develop networks and partnerships with relevant institutions and individuals such as universities, significant gardens and specialist advisors.
- To utilize those contacts to support the ongoing interpretation, development, promotion and maintenance of Hamilton Gardens in order to preserve and enhance its standing and design integrity.
