As part of Hamilton Book Month, we are hosting authors Rachel Clare and Tryphena Cracknell, who will provide a talk on their book “Aotearoa in Bloom: The History, Culture and Practical Uses of New Zealand’s Flowers“.

This lushly illustrated book, combining photographs and historic botanical drawings, explores the history of a range of flowering plants, including their significance in te ao Māori. Subjects range from the beloved blooms of kōwhai and pōhutukawa to the lesser-known native forget-me-nots, fragrant toropapa and our many orchid species. Books will be available for sale and signing.

Thursday 13 August, 6:30 – 8:00pm, Central Court, Hamilton Gardens Pavilion, 6:30-8:00pm

$10 cash, no registration required
